What is Szamos?

Szamos shoes are well-regarded for their high-quality materials and thoughtful design, particularly aimed at ensuring the comfort and healthy development of children’s feet. The materials used in Szamos shoes typically include:

1.    100% Genuine Leather: Both the lining and upper parts of Szamos shoes are made from genuine leather. This ensures durability, breathability, and comfort—essential for children’s footwear.
2.    Flexible Soles: The soles of Szamos shoes are designed to be flexible at the ball of the foot, allowing for natural movement and growth. This is particularly important for developing feet.
3.    Sturdy Heel Counter and Reinforced Toe Cap: These features provide additional support and protection, which is beneficial for active children and helps prevent injuries.
4.    Supinated (orthopedic) Support: Some models, especially those designed to help with overpronation, include supinated (orthopedic) soles. These are specifically crafted to provide extra support and alignment for children who have a tendency to roll their feet inward when walking.
5.    Padded Heel Liner: For extra comfort, the heel liner is padded, reducing friction and providing cushioning.

Szamos focuses on combining traditional craftsmanship with modern design trends to create shoes that are not only stylish but also beneficial for children’s foot health. Their commitment to quality has earned them several awards and a strong reputation in the European market.

Thanks to their sole design, our shoes with supinated (orthopedic) soles tilt the inward-leaning ankle outwards and keep it in the correct position. The sole is designed in such a way that the inner side of the heel part is 4.5 mm higher than the outer side, so it can tilt the child's ankle into the right position.

It is very important that this position be maintained correctly. For this, it is necessary to use the long, reinforced crust placed in the heel part of the shoe. This supports the ankle from the outside, prevents it from turning inward, and gives stability and security to the child’s foot. With the corrected position, the special heel part also helps form the arch and stimulates the weakened plantar muscles to work actively.

The picture below shows the reinforced crust and how it is located in the footwear between the colored leather and the lining.

Footwear with a special internal shape and construction—made with the utmost care using materials tested and regularly checked by an accredited laboratory—is suitable for correcting heel axis deformation in developing feet.
